Ellie has been with us for just over a week now and her sweet little personality is blossoming! She LOVES to play! She finds a toy and stands at the top of our stairs and "invites" everyone up for playtime. At times other than play, Ellie is definitely a follower. She still needs Maggie and Mario to show her what to do and she likes to be with someone at all times (human or dog will do!). She has been quick to adjust to our routine and even allowed us to sleep late on the weekend!
Although our dogs are allowed on the furniture, Ellie has not made any attempt to join them. She is very happy on one of the many dog beds throughout the house. She especially likes the one in front of the fireplace! She gives a little grunt of happiness when she is settled there...makes us laugh every time.
Ellie is such a sweet loving girl and fits in quite nicely with just a little leadership from human and hound.

Ellie is a precious girl!
Ellie has been in our home for two days and is settling in nicely. She walks well on her leash and pottys on a leash as well. She is a smart girl and watches our greys closely for clues on what is going to happen next. She then does exactly what they show her and fits right in.
She crates well, with just a little nudge and she sleeps on a hound bed through the night without a peep.
As you have seen, she likes to play and she gladly gives up her toy to be tossed and retrieved. Ellie is going to make a wonderful addition to a family soon! She is just so happy to have a soft bed and to be loved. This little girl is taking her retirement very seriously!

The Winter Gathering
Ellie had a great time at the Winter Gathering today! She met a very nice family and decided she would like to go stay at their house for a bit and see how she likes it there.
I didn't get any pictures of her at the event, but I did get some of her in the car on the ride there. She actually rode in the front seat for the 45-minute ride (the car was packed with my daughter and another hound and that was the only spot) and did great!
Best of luck in these next few weeks, Ellie. We love you and miss you already!

Another Video
Ellie's first foster mom found a video she took when Ellie was with her and sent it to me. You can definitely see what a fun and playful girl she is! Ellie also wants to make sure everyone knows she will be at the Winter Gathering this coming Sunday and she hopes to see you there!

Ellie has a Home Visit
I just wanted to let everyone know Ellie will not be at the Meet and Greet in Hermitage on 1/8 because she has a home visit. If she is not adopted, she will be at the Winter Gathering on 1/16. I will post an update on her soon!

Ellie is doing great!
Ellie is back at our house after being adopted for a few weeks because she didn't seem to like being crated in that home. She has done great being crated here at our house, so it may just be that she would like having the company of another dog.
Ellie is adjusting to pet life fine. She has had no accidents, does fine with stairs and solid-surface flooring, and gets along with my other three greyhounds. She has done well with my 5-year-old daughter too. She loves playing fetch in the yard and will even fetch and bring toys back to her. She loves people and snuggling and would love to have couch privileges, but she is okay with not being allowed on the furniture here. She is a very smart girl and I think she would do really well in obedience training.
Ellie will be at the Hermitage Meet and Greet at Petsmart, Oakwood Commons, this Saturday, 1/8 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and would love for you to come out and see her. I'm going to be better about posting blog updates for this sweet girl, so be sure to check back soon!
